For Wood

Your wood is treated with a water resistant (but not fully waterproof) finish - the product is Woodcreme by König Holz und Harz.  You can wipe it with a damp cloth but please don’t soak it!  It is also a food safe finish so you can use it for ‘dry’ food, but it may not be suitable for ‘wet’ food as it is not fully waterproof and it could damage the wood and may be tricky to clean.

After time you may wish to top-up its nourishing finish - simply use a wood oil, wax or cream and apply with a soft cloth.  Allow to soak in and remove any excess.

Your wood will change – that’s what makes wood so wonderful!  It will change colour with time and handling, and it may change slightly in shape.  

For Silver

Over time any silver parts of your piece may tarnish. To brighten them up again, you can use a silver cleaner and soft cloth. Just be careful to remove any cleaner from the surrounding wood.
